OILMOTION continues working in the areas of research and development, two of the foundations upon which its knowledge is based, and by collaborating with the University of Barcelona.
OILMOTION has signed an agreement with this institution, with which it already participates in different initiatives and actions, for a project developing an Industrial Doctorate.
OILMOTION, as a world reference in olive oil, has chosen the thesis “Olive oil in gastronomy, from freezing to 180 degrees”.
With the development of this Industrial Doctorate, it is hoped that a new frozen virgin olive oil for alimentary use can be tested for its viability, assuring that it maintains the quality and characteristics which define olive oil, at the same time as defining which is the best oil or coupage for use in culinary frying on a large scale.
Industrial Doctorates are agreements designed to promote collaborative public-private research, as encouraged by the Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) del Departament d’Empresa i Coneixement de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Universities and Research Grants Agency). This type of research enables companies to attract people with talent, knowledge and value-added skills, whilst, for universities and research centres it represents a good opportunity for technology transfer and connection to the workplace, contributing to the competitiveness and internationalisation of the business community.
